By providing a unique competitive series devoted solely to women, the AGSJ
is able to bring women of the new millennium together allowing one-on-one
interaction. Competition includes both the amateur and professional levels.
Originally an annual event, the popularity and demand from women skaters have
caused the All Girl Skate Jam to be involved in action and extreme sports events
around the world, as well as offering a skate/surf camp every summer. The All
Girl Skate Jam is sanctioned by the International Girls Skateboarding
Association.
Soul skater and photographer Patty Segovia organized the All Girl Skate Jam
Demo in 1990 as a way to recognize female skateboarders. AGSJ tours
nationally and internationally, uniting pro and amateur girls from around the world to
skate competitively and have fun. Every AGSJ event donates proceeds to
mental health organizations.
